Light Link brings together several interventions in order to offer holistic solutions to marginalised communities. By bridging the gap in access to electricity, Light Link hopes to provide young students with durable, solar-powered lamps to support their independent study. The project will begin by conducting a survey designed to evaluate the existing extent of electrical shortages in underserved communities, using the Light Insights Questionnaire. This will help provide a clearer understanding of the ways in which lightning affects student’s study hours, safety, and general learning at home. Using these insights, the Light the Way Donation Drive will raise funds to purchase high-quality solar lamps, which will then be donated to a local NGO. This phase will see the Lamp for Learning Campaign, through which Light LInk will produce sustainable and safe lighting for NGOs in need.
Through these efforts, Light LInk hopes to provide solutions not only to bridge the gap in access to lightning, but also the effects this can have on young students and their potential.
